Framing tips

1. Choosing the Frame:
Match the frame style to the artwork's style and the room's decor. For example, a classic artwork may benefit from a traditional frame, while contemporary art may pair well with a sleek, modern frame.
Consider the colour of the frame. It can pick up and complement colours from the artwork. Look for dominant or accent colours in the art and choose a frame that harmonizes with them.

2. Understanding the Mat:
The mat provides "breathing space" between the artwork and the frame, allowing the art to shine without feeling cramped.
Mat colour should enhance the artwork, not dominate it. Choose a colour that complements the art's palette, drawing attention to the artwork itself.

3. Mat Width Matters:
Experiment with different mat widths to find the perfect balance. A wider mat can create a bold, dramatic look, while a narrower mat offers a sleek and modern presentation.

4. The Optional Second Mat:
The second mat is placed behind the primary mat and reveals a subtle 3mm edge around the artwork.
It can be a powerful design element, serving as an accent colour. Look for a strong accent colour within the artwork and choose a second mat that matches or complements it.
